The mountain resort Harghita Bath, 21 km far from Miercurea Ciuc and 45 km from Odorheiu Secuiesc, is situated in Harghitei Mountains at 1350 m altitude. Since 1800, this small resort has become well-known due to the surrounding landscapes, its mineral waters and as the sulphur treatment base of cardiovascular disease or rheumatism. The climate, the coldest in Europe’s regions of the same altitude, makes the longest winter season (150 days) where the low temperatures are frequent (-36°C in 2002 December).
